Patient Photography & Image Consent

Patient photography is an important part of clinical assessment and treatment planning in aesthetic medicine. This notice explains how Savoy Clinic handles photographs taken during or in connection with your consultation or treatment with Dr. Elnaz Mirtaheri.

How consent is obtained

Photographs are only ever taken with your explicit, informed, written consent. Before any photography takes place, you will be provided with a written consent form that clearly explains:

• The clinical purpose for which photographs will be taken.
• How the photographs will be stored, who may access them, and for how long.
• Whether you are also consenting to their use for any purpose beyond your clinical record — for example, education or marketing.
• Your right to withdraw consent at any time.

Consent for clinical record-keeping and consent for publication or marketing use are treated as entirely separate permissions. You may give consent to one without giving consent to the other, and neither decision will affect the care you receive.

Clinical photography

Photographs taken as part of your clinical assessment form part of your confidential patient file. They are stored securely and access is restricted to Dr. Elnaz Mirtaheri and, where directly relevant to your care, authorised members of the clinical team. Clinical photographs are not shared externally without your separate, explicit consent.

Before and after photography for publication

With your separate, optional consent, before and after photographs may be used for educational or portfolio purposes — for example, on this website or in clinical presentations. This consent is entirely voluntary. Declining will have no effect on your treatment or the standard of care you receive.

Where photographs are published, they will not be associated with your name or any personally identifying information unless you have given additional, specific consent for that purpose. Published photographs are reviewed by Dr. Elnaz Mirtaheri before publication to confirm they represent an honest and fair depiction of clinical outcomes. Images are not digitally retouched or altered.

How images are stored

Patient images are stored securely as part of your clinical record, using access-controlled, encrypted storage. Images are retained in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations governing clinical record-keeping. Images are not shared with third parties except as required by law or with your explicit consent.

Your right to withdraw consent

You may withdraw your consent for the use of your images at any time by contacting us via the contact page or calling 04 259 1002. Upon withdrawal of consent, we will immediately cease using your images for any purpose beyond what is legally required for your clinical record.

Where images have already been published, we will take all reasonable steps to remove them promptly. In some cases, complete removal from third-party cached content may not be immediately possible, but we will act as quickly as is practicable.

Requesting removal of published images

If you believe an image of you has been published without appropriate consent, or if you wish to request removal of any published image, please contact us immediately via the contact page. We take such requests seriously and will respond promptly.
